Bakshaish

Woven by master weavers in northern Afghanistan, Bakshaish rugs originated in the village of Bakshaish near Heriz in northwestern Persia, where village weavers developed their distinctive geometric style. Repeating Tree of Life motifs, willows, cypresses, and spraying fountains all evoke the splendor of a Persian garden.
