The historic medallion design, inspired by the magnificent carpets woven in Cairo during the Mamluk sultanate of Egypt in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, has been reimagined as archaic fragments within a modern, impressionistic palette, creating a unique and fascinating work of woven art.
