Turkoman Yomud

A historic Turkoman design rooted in the weaving legacy of the Yomud tribe of western Turkmenistan and northeastern Persia, whose carpet tradition has deep roots in the nomadic weaving culture of Central Asia, with surviving examples dating from at least the late eighteenth century. The hooked diamond gul medallions served as tribal emblems, identifying the weaving heritage of the Yomud people.
