Bakshaish

Woven by master weavers in northern Afghanistan, Bakshaish rugs originated in the village of Bakshaish near Heriz in northwestern Persia, where village weavers developed their distinctive geometric style. The indigo field with a flowering Tree of Life, willows, and cypresses is framed by a leaf border.
